Update..

so to let you know how this went for me, and why I had such recent need for this.. A update to security in samba recently broke trust relationships on the domain for every computer (all windows 7) that touches the domain, so in XP it was not as hard to fix, but in Windows 7 a little manual tweaking of ones profile insures it will never get fixed right again.. so having it not go so well once, lead me towards extra caution in repairing the profiles on all the other machines. With that being said, what worked for me the easiest was after repairing the trust relationship.. add another domain account as admin on the machine that has never logged in, so I could manually, recursively set the permissions, and then use the reprofiler tool that is mentioned above to set what directory the account is currently connected to.. Hope that helps someone.. as always your mileage may vary

Posted by grant on April 9, 2016 in Uncategorized |

I generally like openfire as a IM server, but an area of fail for me seems to be the complications involved when trying to have applications talk to the integrated bosh server.. something like installing jappix and having it talk to the bosh server should not require it to be a plugin for it to adequately […]
