Firefox home on iPhone doesnt allow custom server!?!?
Well when I read that firefox home was coming out for the iPhone, and that I could see all the stuff I had been browsing on my pc via my phone.. that seemed cool, accept I would much prefer to keep that data on my on server instead of someone elses. So when I saw you could do firefox sync to your own server, I thought that was great, and added that to the list of things I should do when I had some time. After finally getting it setup and working on my pc to my own server, I was quite displeased when I launched the app on the iPhone for the first time and found there were no options to configure for a custom server. There is good news though, I found on this url http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/6/727433?s=custom+server&as=s that the official word on the functionality is “We definitely want to enable this as quickly as we can. Supporting users running their own servers is very much a part of our core service
principles. We have a bug open to track this: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=579247. Please follow that bug for more details and updates. ” so, I will be watching that bug for status updates 🙂
